I've always been a fan of the underdog. That's why I appreciate places that I consider hidden gems in Missouri. One of my favorites is a part of the state that is canvased by deep springs, waterfalls and also wild horses.

There was a time when Missouri was truly wild. The wild horses of Shannon County are one of the last vestiges of that. There's new video showing the Rocky Creek herd from that region who still run free to this day.

If you are up for an adventure, there's a secret 109-year-old cabin that you can visit that's hidden away deep in the Mark Twain National Forest in Missouri.
