(HANNIBAL)—A Hannibal man is recovering from moderate injuries after he drove his SUV into the path of a Burlington Northern Santa Fe freight train at Scipio Lane a mile north of Hannibal Friday afternoon. The Missouri Highway Patrol says 66 year old James Kendrick was crossing the tracks on a private road at 3:35 p-m when he drove into the path of the southbound train. His vehicle sustained extensive damage. Kendrick was taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment.
