Lions, lions, and more lions can now be seen in the new state-of-the-art habitat at the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago.

Construction started back in 2019 for the new habitat which can be seen both inside and outside by zoo visitors. The lions can enjoy shade and shelter during hot Chicago summer days and a place to have some privacy from all those viewing eyes on them. In addition to the new habitat, there are also new animals making the Lincoln Park Zoo home including one male and three females lions, two red pandas, two Canada lynx, and two snow leopards.

This new habitat is one of five projects that the zoo has been working on since 2015 costing a total of $135 million. If you've ever visited the Lincoln Park Zoo within the last few years you probably would remember all the construction going on, well now that's all done and you can enjoy just visiting the zoo and learning about all the animals.

Much like the St. Louis Zoo, the Lincoln Park Zoo is free to visit with plenty to keep you busy for the day. I've been to this zoo and it really is beautiful. Set right in the middle of Lincoln Park, it's one of those zoos that we like to visit over and over when we have the chance. We will have to check out this massive lion habitat now open at the zoo and see and experience it for ourselves.
