Six Hannibal Sites You Had No Idea Were Haunted

Past caretakers and many visitors to the historic home have no doubt that the spirit of lumber baron John J. Cruikshank still inhabits the beautifully restored mansion. His footsteps are often heard climbing the stairs to his old room, and the smell of his distinctive cigar smoke accompanies his presence.

Arif Dagin, co-owner of the restaurant, has had many paranormal experiences while living in the apartment above the establishment including doors opening and closing without any human help and his name being spoken.

This popular gathering place was once the favorite hardware store in town. Locals believe that Percy Haydon, the man who opened the hardware store and operated it for many years, is still around making sure all runs smoothly.

One of the oldest buildings in town, staff and guests report a variety of paranormal activity that has occurred over the years including many sightings of apparitions, dishes flying across the room and voices. For more, CLICK HERE.

This Victorian Queen Anne Mansion has been the focus of several paranormal investigations over the years. Guests report footsteps, orbs and odd lights in photographs, and other paranormal activities. In 2006, NBC’s Today Show listed the mansion as one of the top ten places in the U.S. to sleep with a ghost. LEARN MORE.
