The U.S. Small Business Administration announces federal disaster loans are available to small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses, small aquaculture enterprises, and most non-profits in several counties in our area, including Adams, Brown, Pike and Scott in Illinois, and Marion, Ralls, and Pike in Missouri. The loans are a result of the recent drought conditions. Loans can be made for up to 2 million dollars at interest rates of 3 to 4 percent with terms up to 30 years for eligible farm-related and nonfarm-related businesses that suffered financial losses as a direct result of the drought. Applicants can call the SBA Customer Service Center at 800-659-2955 or go to the site disasterloan.sba.gov before March 25, 2013.
