Water main repairs have resulted in some temporary road closures and boil orders this weekend in Quincy. According to the City of Quincy website,. a boil order has been issued for Granview Circle.  Repair of a water main required a momentary interruption in water service.  Service has been restored and a boil order is now in effect.

Just south of Quincy, the Mill Creek Water District has issued a boil order for the following area:

  • From 5312 Highway 96 South southeast to all of Anna wall Road.
  • All of Southway Court and all of Walker Road.
  • 6407 Benz Road heading east to Anna Wall Road.

This boil order is due to a main break and is in effect until further notice.

Water main repairs have resulted in some lane closures in downtown Quincy as well:  The west northbound lane of traffic on 4th Street (US Hwy 24) between Vermont and Broadway will remain closed until 3:00 p.m. Tuesday. The east northbound lane of traffic will remain open to traffic at all times.

Monroe Street between 24th and 26th Streets is closed to through traffic due to the emergency repair of a failed water main in the area.  This section of roadway is expected to reopen to traffic on Tuesday.
