I'm not gonna say "I told you so", but "I did tell you so" way back in July when I shared a report that Nolan Arenado was very happy being a St. Louis Cardinal and would not opt out of his contract at the end of the season.

It now appears it's official as MLB Trade Rumors shared news via Katie Woo from The Athletic that Nolan Arenado informed the Cardinals that he will opt in to the rest of his contract which will keep him with the team through 2027. ESPN is also reporting that Nolan has officially told the team he's staying.

Derrick Gould of the St. Louis Post Dispatch reportedly spoke with Arenado on Saturday and he expressed his love for the team, his teammates and the city of St. Louis.

Now we wait to see who the St. Louis Cardinals bring into the lineup to help him and MVP candidate Paul Goldschmidt to improve the Cardinals playoff chances in 2023.
