A Quincy woman made her first appearance in federal court in Springfield on drug related charges.

According to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, 39 year old Andrea Nicole Tate of 400 block of North 7th, had been indicted on charges of distribution of heroin that resulted in death.

Tate is alleged to have distributed and possessed with intent to distribute heroin that resulted in a death on June 24th, 2016.

Tate’s arrest came as the result of an investigation by the West Central Illinois Task Force and Quincy Police.

Tate remains in the custody of the U.S. Marshal’s Service pending a January 3rd trial date.
