The Salvation Army is celebrating another successful Christmas fundraising campaign in Quincy.

Campaign chairs Charles, Jamie, Jake and Becca Scholz announced Monday the Quincy 2019 Christmas campaign raised a total of $415,643, exceeding the goal of $410,000.

The Tree of Lights Christmas Campaign is the Salvation Army’s major fund raising effort each year. The money raised at Christmas time helps provide assistance to families and individuals in the greater Adams, Brown and Pike County areas during the Christmas season, as well as during the rest of the year.

This holiday season in the Quincy service area, 700 boxes were distributed to families, 827 children received 7,039 toys from the Salvation Army Toy Town, 540 meals were served on Thanksgiving and 420 meals were served Christmas Day.
