Matt Burry, the golf pro at Westview Golf Course, has the job of making Westview a profit center for the Quincy Park District.  To his credit he has produced a plan to help the public golf course find a way to make additional revenue.

His plan involves taking the holes 19th thru 27 and turning that part of the course into 5 par three holes and 4 par four holes along with a driving and chipping ranges.  This plan according to Burry would enhance revenue the course is currently missing out on, especially the driving range.

Opponents to the plan argue that the course has numerous golf outings during the season and the third nine holes is the only option for those wanting to play at Westview during those particular golf outings.

Burry contends that once all the information on his plan is revealed people will see the plan in a different light.  The opportunity to review Burry's plan will come tonight when the Park District will be holding a public forum to allow the presentation of the plan and then take questions and opinions from concerned golfers.  That forum will be held in the Westview Golf Course clubhouse at 6pm tonight.

Westview has seen a decrease in rounds of golf played recently and additional revenue is needed to offset the loss from less golfers playing the course.
