There's a new type of chicken that is reportedly on its way to the Quincy and Hannibal KFC's except it's not really chicken. It's plant-based and it's about to be available at all Kentucky Fried Chickens nationwide.

Plant-based meats are a hot button issue these days, so please don't shoot the messenger if this isn't something that makes you happy. This "Beyond Fried Chicken" thing was first announced as a test by KFC last year. As of next Monday, January 10, it will be everywhere. That's being reported by numerous news outlets including CNBC, Newsweek and Barrons just to name a few.

It's not officially listed as a menu item on the KFC website yet, but is reported to be available to order at all KFC's including Quincy and Hannibal as of Monday, January 10.

What's it like? There are some online reviews of the Beyond Fried Chicken from when it began testing in Nashville a couple years ago.

Are you excited or is this a no-go? I will be reaching out to our local KFC's to get more details about the local rollout and update this story once I have new information.
