NWS Downgrades Rain Forecast for Fabius Drainage Area
Flooding in Quincy, Illinois - 2014
Some cautious good news came for business and land owners in the Fabius River Drainage District Monday.
On Sunday, Drainage District officials had advised of a possible need to evacuate.
Monday, National Weather Service rainfall predictions for the next five days were downgraded from four inches to about two-and-a-half inches.
Officials now say that, while the updates put residents in a better position, the need to evacuate remains a possibility.
Officials with the Fabius River Drainage District also ask, unless you are helping with sandbagging or evacuation efforts, that you please stay clear of the area.
