Charles Peek just shared this drone video with WAAY-TV 31 News which they shared on YouTube. It's an interesting perspective showing the Mississippi River with the barge traffic that's having a very difficult time maneuvering the low water levels.

A few days ago, NBC News shared video of different areas of the Mississippi River mentioning that this is the lowest it's been since 2004.

For some parts of the river, the levels are now reaching 1992 levels which is hurting barge traffic and tourism.

Yale Climate Connections mentions that there is some short term help with incoming rainfall in the region, but the overall forecast is for the dry to continue and with that continuing challenges to deal with the Mississippi River with way below normal water levels.
