Musician Shows How He Built a Tiny Home Big Enough for His Drums
Do you have the patience and the know-how to design and build your own home? One musician did and added a degree of difficulty by planning a tiny home that would be big enough to hold his drum kit.

I saw this fascinating build story trending on Digg. It's the story of Nick Soave. Nick is a drummer and does not reveal where he lives although the rural setting looks familiar so I'm guessing southern Illinois or Tennessee? Irrelevant. Here's how Nick describes his journey:
I drew the plans for this tiny house on wheels in 2017. I finished building the tiny house in fall of 2019. I moved into the tiny house in spring of 2020. 2 years later, and here's the tiny house tour...
He did this within a 180 square foot space. With drums.
Nick did this whole process with as much reprocessed material as possible. He did say that he had a slight background in construction which definitely helps. The cabinets he built into the stairs is genius. For a space that small, you have to maximize every single inch and Nick accomplished that.
The kitchen Nick built is a decent size. The bedroom tucked up into the loft. As for his recording studio, he managed to jam his drum kit and microphones into the main living area of the home along with his Macbook on a small desk for recording.
Nick managed this design and build for around $23,000 which is incredible for a fully-functional home. If you've got the know-how to build and the willpower to minimalize, this is something just about anyone can accomplish. It's even easier if you don't have drums.
