Monroe City Arrest

(MONROE CITY)—A Monroe City man is in jail facing a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon following a search of his residence by agents of the Northeast Missouri Narcotics Task Force.

Authorities say John Mayfield is in the Monroe County Jail on 10-thousand dollars bond. Police reports say he was present as Task Force Agents seized marijuana, drug paraphenalis and a firearm at his residence at 525 First Street in Monroe City late last week.

Task Force Captain Patti Talbert says additional arrests and charges may be pending.
