Those back-to-school supplies will not cost as much this weekend in many parts of Missouri.

The annual sales tax holiday is in effect from Friday through Sunday.

No state taxes will be collected on purchases of many clothing items, personal computers and other classroom supplies up to 35 hundred dollars.

More than 160 cities and almost half of counties are not participating. That means buyers will have to pay city and county sales taxes in those places.

Northeast Missouri cities where supplies will cost you more include Hawk Point, Vandalia, Shelbina, Paris, Palmyra, Moberly and Moscow Mills.

Counties that will still collect their local sales taxes are Pike, Audrain and Shelby.
