From Friday through Sunday, certain back-to-school purchases like clothes, school supplies and computers will be exempt from sales taxes.

The Missouri Department of Revenue says there are some limitations. Clothing has to have a value of 100 dollars or less and school supplies can’t exceed 50 dollars per purchase. Personal computers must cost less than 15 hundred dollars to be eligible for the sales tax exemption.

A number of Missouri cities and counties are not waiving their sales taxes this weekend.
In northeast Missouri, you will still have to pay city sales taxes in Canton, Palmyra, Paris, Shelbina and Vandalia. You will also still have to pay county sales taxes for purchases in Audrain, Pike and Shelby counties.
