Many Missourians Would Switch to Electric Car if Paid Over $6,400
Would you be willing to switch to an electric vehicle? What if you were (*ahem*) compensated for it? A new survey claims many Missourians would be willing to move to an electric vehicle if you paid them over $6,400.

There's an interesting study that's been shared by a Volkswagen dealership in Delray Beach, Florida. It's apparently based on a national survey of residents of each state asking the question how much it would take for them to make the jump to a vehicle powered by electricity. Here's the map and what Missourians said:
Isn't that compelling? Fork over $6,403 (and let's not forget the 3 cents, too) and a Missouri resident would consider moving to a vehicle that gets plugged in instead of pumped. The map also shows Illinois would be willing to go electric for just over $6,000. That's a bargain.
I will admit that I was more than a bit hesitant to jump on the electric vehicle bandwagon. I'm fine with getting away from petrol, but new technology needs time to work out the bugs. I also have been waiting for the car makers to prove that they can provide performance with electricity. Yes, I'm talking about electric muscle cars. That's beginning to happen.
I think when the car makers can show that electric cars can outperform traditional gasoline vehicles, you'll begin to see people make the move to this new tech.
Oh, and if the government wants to hand over a few thousand dollars like this survey claims, that'd be great, too.
