The son of one of World War II’s best known prisoners of war and Olympic hero will be the keynote speaker at Hannibal-LaGrange University’s Booster Banquet this fall.

HLGU officials announce that Luke Zamperini will keynote the school’s annual banquet on November 9th.

Luke is the son of Louis Zamperini, an Olympian, World War II POW and the subject of the best-selling book “Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience and Redemption,” which became the 2014 movie Unbroken, directed by Angelina Jolie.

When not traveling the country speaking about his father, Luke Zamperini is the chief inspector and public information officer for the Department of Building and Safety for the City of Los Angeles.

Tickets for the 2018 Hannibal-LaGrange Booster Banquet go on sale September 1st.
