(QUINCY)—Quincy Public Schools will soon begin a search for a  new superintendant. Lonny Lemon announced at Wednesday’s school board meeting that he will leave the district June 30th to accept a superintendant position for a K-8 district in Libertyville Illinois. School board president Bill Daniels says that the school district will now focus on finding his replacement. The district has avoided using a headhunting service to hire its superintendents. Daniels says the opening will be advertised with the Illinois Association of School Administrators. Daniels also says an interim superintendent could be hired until a more permanent replacement is found.
