Kroc Center to Host Special Event for Leaps of Love

On Saturday, September 28, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., The Salvation Army Kroc Center will partner with Leaps of Love, a non-profit organization based in Hannibal, Missouri, to host a special event for Leaps of Love-affiliated children and their families affected by childhood cancer.

Leaps of Love specializes in helping families with children receiving cancer treatments and serves families within 100 miles of Hannibal. They serve 135 families in the Hannibal/Quincy area. The organization’s goal is to help these families engage with each other and to give them hope, strength, and encouragement in enduring the challenges facing children with cancer. Affiliated families enjoy retreats, social events, outings, and workshops to provide ways of interacting with others experiencing similar circumstances.
At the Kroc Center, the Leaps of Love families will have free access to swimming, rock climbing, and The Ledge gameroom.

The event will include lunch donated by County Market and a free movie shown in The Meadows conference room. Special appearances will be made by Tom and Becky from Hannibal and R.J., the Kroc Center mascot.
