Missouri’s Democratic U.S. Senate candidate has challenged his opponent to a series of debates this fall, including a couple in northeast Missouri.

In a letter to Republican Senator Roy Blunt, Democratic challenger Jason Kander proposes a series of ten televised debates between now and November in Missouri’s largest media markets.

That would include debates in Hannibal and Kirksville.

In his letter, Kander told Blunt, “Missourians deserve to hear from us directly on the issues that matter.”

Kander also said his campaign would be in touch with Blunt’s campaign soon to begin negotiations.

No word on a response from Blunt’s campaign.
