Watch Video of the Northern Lights Dance in the Sky Over Missouri
There was an extraordinary display of the Aurora Borealis Thursday night as the colorful skies were visible much further south than expected. That resulted in the Northern Lights being visible even in Missouri as a new video share shows.
Dan Bush of the Missouri Skies YouTube channel captured this video on Thursday night from Albany, Missouri located in the north-central part of the state. It's only 11 seconds but shows how colorful the skies got over the Show Me State for at least one night.

NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center had shared news of a huge solar storm that would make the Northern Lights visible, but almost no one expected them to be visible as far south as they were Thursday night.
Earth Sky also shared hundreds of photos taken by those watching the brilliant display Thursday night.
With the current active sun behavior, perhaps we'll get another glimpse of the Northern Lights in our part of America. It's a rare occasion when it happens and I'm glad Dan Bush had his camera ready to capture the moment.
