A man wanted for allegedly for the shooting death of his ex-wife was captured by the US Marshals in Chicago, Illinois where he had fled to.

The US Marshals announced in a press release that they had apprehended Allen Oscar Woods of Hammond, Indiana who is accused in the shooting death of his ex-wife Tiffany Woods which happened the afternoon of December 27, 2024. After asking for help from the public, the US Marshals received tips that the suspect had been seen near the 1200 block of South Canal Street in Chicago. Marshals and the Chicago Police Department and Illinois Department of Corrections investigated the tip and found the suspect two blocks away near the 1400 block of South Canal which is approximately here.

Woods has now officially been charged with the murder of his ex-wife in Lake Criminal Court. The US Marshals say that this capture was the result of work between the Chicago Police Department, Illinois Department of Corrections, Hammond Police Detective Division and the U.S. Marshals’ Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force.

In the last full year of data, the US Marshals task force has apprehended a staggering number of more than 73,000 fugitives.
