‘Significant’ Earthquake in Illinois Wednesday Felt By Hundreds
The trend of strange earthquakes in Illinois continued Wednesday morning as a 'significant' quake was confirmed by the USGS reportedly felt by hundreds.
The USGS reported this Illinois earthquake occurred at approximately 4:41am Wednesday morning. The epicenter was near Standard, Illinois located to the northeast of Peoria and was confirmed by the USGS to be 3.6 in magnitude.
As of this writing, 244 Illinoisans are reporting they felt this quake as it shook much of the northern half of the state.
As I've mentioned previously, Illinois is more seismically-active than many people realize as the state has had many recent measurable earthquakes.
As this is a developing story, it will be updated once new information is released by the USGS.
