Monday was a tragic day for a pedestrian in Missouri earlier this week. A man changing a tire alongside a Missouri interstate was struck and killed by a semi-truck in Franklin County and the driver reportedly fled. The driver alleged to have been involved has now reportedly been arrested.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed to CDL Life that the truck driver who was believed to be involved in the death of a pedestrian on I-44 near Sullivan, Missouri on Monday is now in custody.

The Missouri Highway Patrol shared a picture of the driver's truck after the fatal collision on Monday and by Tuesday night, November 26, the driver had been located and was in their custody.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports, a truck and SUV were stopped along the roadside of I-44 on Monday when a 60-year-old man was changing a tire. The approaching truck struck the man, the truck and SUV and then fled the scene.

As of this writing, the name of the pedestrian killed and the name of the driver who allegedly was involved have not been released. The Missouri state police have also not made any announcements about what charges will be filed against the driver. They did offer thanks to the public for helping them locate the driver.
