19 Illinois Targets Listed After New Russian Nuke Warnings

I have never feared nuclear war because I always believed that leaders would have the good sense to know that there is no winner in an exchange of that magnitude. However, with many conflicts that have taken place already this year along with new threats by Russia this week, it's good to know the places in the most danger. A new nuclear targets database shows 19 locations in Illinois that are believed to be at risk.

I just recently came across an interesting if a bit terrifying site called Nuclear War Map. It includes scenarios where the United States is attacked with a single device likely from a rogue terrorist or organization. But, they also include a large-scale attack simulator which shows the following devastation in Illinois.

Along with that, they include the nuclear target list for each state including 19 places in Illinois. Note that they even go so far as to include the size of nuclear warhead and whether it would be air or surface burst.

Isn't it interesting that expected Illinois targets also include weapons storage in the state along with the usual sites like Scott Air Force Base and Chicago that you would expect to be high on an enemy's list. But, let's circle back to my initial thought. Even with the reports shared just a day or two ago about Medvedev in Russia threating a nuclear strike against America, surely this is just saber-rattling, right? The fact that there is now a slight doubt in my mind is what's concerning.
