Missouri’s Most Livable City for 2025 Will Cost You $3500 a Month
If you'd like to spend your life in Missouri's most livable city, you better be prepared to spend over $3,500 per month based on a new ranking for 2025.
It's not exactly breaking news that life is expensive in 2025. That's made more obvious by a new ranking from Go Banking Rates which named the most livable city in every state. For the state of Missouri, their choice is a curious one which I don't debate, but I also don't fully understand either.
What is the most livable city in Missouri for 2025?
They say it's Maplewood, Missouri. Here are the numbers for the cost of living and livability that the ranking provided:
- Household median income: $58,448
- Livability: 87
- Expenditure monthly average cost: $1,899
- Mortgage monthly average cost: $1,566
- Total cost of living monthly: $3,465
For a St. Louis area town, just over $1,500 per month for housing isn't bad. You're also dealing with some cool Route 66 history in Maplewood, too.
According to Neighborhood Scout, Maplewood, Missouri also has lower than average crime rates for violent and property crime which is quite an accomplishment for the St. Louis area.
I still don't understand why mid-Missouri isn't a better choice than either the metros. To me, the convenience of being in the Columbia area where you're equal distance from St. Louis, Kansas City, university happenings and not that far from the Ozarks is far and wide the best you're probably gonna get in Missouri, but that's just me talking.
