As long as I can remember, the 4th of July has been a day for celebrations. This year, it will be different in at least 2 Missouri towns where protests instead of celebrations have been planned.

Let me be clear that I am the least political person I know which is why I feel like an odd messenger for something like this. But, I try to let everyone know what's going on in my part of America and this is an interesting development. According to the website Women's March, there are at least two protests planned for these Missouri towns on the 4th of July.

I don't fully understand all the aspects of what everyone connected to these rallies is angry about, but the number of people that have RSVP'd so far seem pretty low. For me personally, I don't care if your political views are represented by an elephant, donkey or aardvark. It's a basic American right to protest as long as it's done peacefully. I don't know why everyone seems to be so angry this year in particular, but again I don't have a political bone in my body which is probably why.

As for me and my family on the 4th of July, we'll be at home being thankful for living in a free country, but I completely respect and defend others rights to protest what they view as injustice as long as they don't harm anyone or anything.
