The criteria (apparently) for a storm to get a name is that is must be capable of dropping significant amounts of winter precipitation on an area. Since there are very few that don't pass over at least part of Missouri and Illinois, we can consider these names our very own personal list.
It's only a matter of time before Anya begins the parade of named winter storms that will have their eyes (if storms had eyes) on us.
