Missouri Company Recalling a 1/4 Million Pounds of Chicken Strips

It's one of the most popular heat and eat meals in America which makes this recall all the more urgent. A Missouri company has issued a bulletin alerting customers that they're recalling a quarter million pounds of chicken strips due to possible plastic contamination.

Food Safety News says that Conagra which is based in Marshall, Missouri is recalling their Banquet Chicken Strips meals. For many, this box will be a familiar sight in a freezer.

The chicken strip meals that are being recalled "may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically pieces of plastic" according to Food Safety News. The recall amounts to 245,366 pounds. That's a ton of chicken strips - literally.

The bulletin says the meals that are being recalled were produced on June 20, 2023, July 11, 2023, and July 17, 2023. This is the information to look for on the packaging to see if you have one of the recalled chicken strip meals:

8.9-oz. carton containing one entree of “BANQUET CHICKEN STRIPS MEAL” with best if used by “DEC 11 2024,” “JAN 01 2025,” or “JAN 07 2025” and lot numbers 5009317120, 5009319220, or 5009319820 located on the side of the carton

If you have one of the recalled chicken strip meals from Banquet, best plan is to return them to the store they were purchased from or discard.
