Missouri Suddenly Zooms to Near the Top of Best Retirement Places
When you think of riding off into the sunset to enjoy your golden years, Missouri doesn't automatically come to mind, but perhaps it should as a new ranking shows the state has suddenly zoomed to near the top of the best retirement places in America.
I saw this interesting new retirement ranking that was just shared by Study Finds. They looked at "everything from tax burdens to healthcare quality" and the results are a bit surprising. It's not a shock to see Florida at #1 as that state has been synonymous with retirement, but Missouri appears very high in the list which many did not expect.
Missouri is now ranked as the 13th best place to retire in America and there's a singular reason why the state now is among the top retirement destinations and that's affordability. Missouri doesn't score quite as high as the other top retirement states for quality of life or health care, but getting more for your dollar is very much a Missouri thing. Let's face it. If you're a senior on a fixed income after retirement, not having your costs skyrocket is a must. Missouri's affordability score helped it win the day and suddenly appear as a great retirement option.
