There are a lot of reasons why a restaurant in Missouri might decide to close its doors. In some cases, business costs make staying open impossible, but for others it's just time to start another chapter. That's the story for a Mexican restaurant in Missouri that has recently announced they will be closing in July.

If you've been shopping in Manchester, Missouri, you've likely driven by this place located at 14234 Manchester Road.

This is El Toluco Taqueria & Grocery who announced on Facebook earlier this year that they were closing their doors to "open a new chapter".

They followed that up just a couple weeks ago with a tribute to their waitress Lulu who has never missed a day in the 9 years they've been open.

I feel for the mom and pop Missouri restaurants these days. Rising costs of doing business including utilities, insurance and property leases make it difficult to turn a profit. When you factor in the staffing challenges for local restaurants, the degree of difficulty gets even steeper. I hope this Manchester, Missouri family finds success in their next chapter and that their staff do the same. It's not easy being a restaurant these days.
