Three Lights Reported Over Springfield Before Loud Boom
Someone recently saw something odd that happened in the sky over Springfield, Missouri. There were three lights they thought were stars, but then they started moving together. That was followed by a large boom that made them wonder what they had just witnessed.
According to the National UFO Reporting Center site, this wild sky phenomenon was witnessed over Springfield, Missouri not long after midnight on May 30, 2026. The encounter lasted 2 or 3 minutes according to their eyewitness report. Here are their exact words on what they saw:
"I stood out wondering why it looked fairly light out at almost 1a.m. I also heard several BOOM sounds from the Sky. It wasn't on the ground. I could feel it physically coming from the northeast sky. I started scanning the sky for planes or something to figure out what was happening. Then I suddenly saw stars that WERE NOT MOVING – start to move in unison across the sky."
They went on to say that they believe the lights were all part of just one large object. They also say they noticed animals reacting to whatever the lights were doing and there were no discernable edges to the lights.
There are obviously a few possible natural explanations for flying objects in that part of Missouri thanks to the proximity to the Springfield/Branson National Airport. However, there are no known aircraft that matchup with the appearance and movement of what this person saw near the end of May. There's also no explanation about what the boom sounds they heard were. By definition, this is an unidentified flying object. Exactly what it was over Springfield at around 1am on May 30 is anyone's guess.
