How would you like to have a family farm only to have nearly all of your crops stolen? That just happened to a family in Illinois who grows pumpkins, but the community is rallying to their side.

I learned of this share by Meyers Family Farms from Belvidere, Illinois that just happened a few days ago

In case you can't see their social media post on your device, here's part of what they shared:

"Pumpkin season is officially over for us this year. Unfortunately, someone entered our field and stole the remaining pumpkins. What we currently have picked is all that we have left for the season."

However, they shared something special in an update the day after this news broke. It's how the community in Belvidere is rallying around them including another farmer who volunteered to share their pumpkin crop with them.

While the pumpkin theft makes me irate (I would love to be Batman or Ghost Rider and find the evildoers), it's the response of the community that I find incredibly inspiring. How awesome is it for fellow farmers to run to their aid within a day of learning of this theft? I find that incredible. The thieves will face the ultimate justice someday, but let's tell the story of a community in Illinois that comes running to the rescue of a neighbor in need. That's the real story here.
