Sometimes people make unique choices and sometimes those choices have consequences. That is the case for one Illinois man who allegedly decided he needed to take someone else's backhoe because he needed to get to the airport to catch a flight.

I saw this interesting story that was shared on YouTube by Eyewitness News WTVO WQRF. Watch the man with a guitar case on his back walk across the intersection shortly before he's shown driving a backhoe away...to the airport.

This story appears to have originated from the Williamson County Sheriff's Office on Facebook who provided some additional details about what went down (allegedly). This apparently happened at Veteran's Airport in southern Illinois. They say that Timothy J. Baggott of Carbondale has been charged with the theft of this heavy equipment for the apparent purpose of getting to the airport on time. They say the theft was in excess of $10,000 in value so that gets Timothy a felony charge.

I've heard it said that truth is stranger than fiction and I have yet to see any fiction that portrayed a man in a hurry taking someone else's digger for the sake of making a flight.

Let's remember that everyone is innocent until proven guilty even if that accusation involves something almost beyond understanding.
