Deadly Pathogens Experimented with Inside 7 Illinois Labs?

Yes, I understand that precautions are being taken, but does it also concern you just a little bit that there are reportedly at least 7 Illinois labs in different parts of the state that experiment with deadly pathogens? Where did I put my insulated bubble suit?

There is an interesting expose shared by USA Today called Biolabs in your backyard. They found 7 Illinois facilities that are classified as BSL-3 or BSL-4 labs and say that even more "high containment" labs may also be hidden in the state. Here are the ones they know about:

This topic came up after the Half as Interesting YouTube channel shared this interesting look at what high risk labs are doing to prevent these deadly pathogens from escaping and causing big problems.

To emphasize that I don't have any doubt that the professionals in these labs are taking every precaution possible to keep a catastrophe from happening, but it is a little unsettling when you come to the realization that accidents can happen even to the best and the brightest.

Perhaps my paranoia is just the result of watching too many movies and remembering what happened to a certain lab in 2020.
