VIDEO: Illinois Firefighters Rescue Driver Surrounded by Bees

If you are or have ever been a firefighter, you know that you have to be prepared for nearly any type of situation. One crew of Illinois firefighters had to do something they've probably never done before recently as they were called to come to the rescue of a truck driver who was being harassed by bees.

I first came across this entertaining video as it was shared by trucking site CDL Life. They said that a truck driver at the Flying J truck stop in La Salle, Illinois had a problem. He was unable to get into his truck cab because it was being swarmed by bees. That standoff continued until the heroes with hoses arrived - the LaSalle Fire Department.

In case you can't read the small print of their description on social media, here's how they described their "rescue":

"LaSalle Fire Department was requested to assist a truck driver at Flying J who was unable to enter his cab due to bees swarming around it. With a little creative application of water, the driver was able to enter his truck and continue his journey. All in a day’s work for Black shift and LaSalle Fire."

Fortunately all's well that ends well and it appears the bees were convinced by the water to go back to doing bee things elsewhere and the truck driver was able to continue his transport. Never a dull moment in Illinois for firefighters.
