There are so many stories about what happened in this Illinois hotel. All of those who tell the stories do seem to agree on one fact. There were very few who stayed there that made it through an entire night.

Did you ever have the Knights Inn in Sheffield, Illinois as a destination for your travels? It's closed now, but the stories continue to be shared about the terrifying nights many experienced inside. This week on the Illinois sub-Reddit, another story came forward about what one couple experienced.

Crazy long shot. 25 years ago. Haunted AF hotel room, a mile or two off I-80, we think south, Princeton or west of.

In case you can't see the conversation on Reddit, here's a little of what they experienced:

"The guy at the desk was very hesitant but gave us the room. We crashed, and I was awoken by the feeling of a cold hand going over my back and side, which freaked me out. I couldn't go back to sleep, and my husband nodded off and on fitfully. We both got up, looked at each other, packed up the kid, and left before sunrise. In the car, we both said, “Something terrible happened in that room.”

They also shared a review of The Knights Inn in Sheffield, Illinois from 11 years ago which said "“we stayed at this hotel and we couldn't do it after a couple of hours the place is haunted. we got our stuff and left after a couple of hours"

I have to wonder if this is the real reason why this Illinois hotel didn't survive. Could it be that something inside made sure those who tried to sleep didn't stay there?
