I saw MLB Trade Rumors mention that a deal with Willson Contreras was close with the St. Louis Cardinals earlier today. That was based on a tweet from MLB insider Ken Rosenthal. CBS Sports confirms Ken's information.

Jon Heyman is reporting that the deal is for 5 years with the Cardinals according to MLB Trade Rumors. ESPN confirms it's a 5-year deal for $87.5 million dollars.

Now Viva El Birdos has multiple sources confirming that it's a done deal and all we're waiting on now are details. Bleacher Nation shared that many Cubs fans are unhappy about this news. That's so surprising. (*sarcasm*)

I'll add more details when we receive them in an official announcement from the St. Louis Cardinals. But, you can now know that who catches behind the plate for the Cards in 2023 and beyond has been decided.
