The Rocky Mount, Missouri Wixson’s found the mythical Morel Motherlode with a grand prize of a Morel the size of a grade schooler’s head (!!!).

The Mid-Mo Morel Wonder Haul..!

Most Morels are small. This haul from Mid-Missouri all seem extra sized. Based on Jeremiah Wixson’s Facebook page he has a knack for landing big ones kind of regularly. Maybe we need to start hunting with him? You can see his massive mushroom find here.

There is a question of a Morel that sized being as tasty as the more traditional sized mushrooms. There are those that have found giant morels can be overripe and have bugs. But if you could harvest a behemoth the size of a kids head wouldn’t you bring it home?
