Hannibal Pirates Aim to Keep Rolling Against Marshall Owls
The Hannibal Pirates' journey towards districts continues Friday night when the Marshall Owls visit Porter Stadium. The Pirates are 6-1 and looking to complete a solid run through the conference this season, averaging a winning score of 38-5. Marshall comes in at 3-4 on the season and believe they can achieve their first winning record since 2012.
Porter Stadium - Hannibal, Mo.
Since the turn of the century the Pirates have beaten Marshall handily. The last Marshall victory over Hannibal was in 2006. Over the last decade the average score of the Hannibal versus Marshall games is 54-11.

The Owls are led by 6’2” senior quarterback Chase Thompson who has the size, experience and athleticism to make a difference against the Pirates. With offensive skill players like running back Carter Howery and senior wide out Tucker Dowell, the Owls will want to continue to show scoring ability. Marshall put up fifty plus points last week against Fulton, but Hannibal is the best they will have faced so far this season.
Wyeth Dorsey - Hannibal QB
The Pirates' defense has been stout over the last month, and the offense has found the ability to chew up the clock or strike quickly. Hannibal junior running back Darrion Washington will be looking to rack up more touchdowns and long runs, while junior quarterback Wyeth Dorsey maintains a steady hand over the offense.
