Claire’s to Shut Down Nearly 300 Stores, Missouri Hit Hard Too

It's been a challenging year for many retail stores and that definitely includes Claire's. What was once a mall staple has become a brand that has declared bankruptcy and now says it will close hundreds of stores including many in Missouri.

USA Today is reporting that Claire's will close 291 stores as a part of their ongoing bankruptcy process. Here are the stores they report will be closing imminently in Missouri:

Des Peres, Missouri - 160 West County Mall

Jefferson City, Missouri - 3600 Country Club Dr Ste 124

Kansas City, Missouri - 8600 Ward Parkway Center

St. Joseph, Missouri -  5107 N Belt Highway

Independence, Missouri -  18801 E 39 Street Suite 1072

Joplin, Missouri -  101 Rangeline Road

There's no word in the report if there will be other Claire's locations closed after these 291 shutter their doors. It's just another chapter in the ongoing challenge of being a brick and mortar retail store in 2025. Stores like Claire's which used to flourish in mall environments even more so as the era of these large shopping areas seems to be coming to a close.
