I don't need an expert to tell me if you love baseball you'll love summer in Chicago, but it helps build my case because you all know I'm a born and raised Chicagoan with a ton of pro-Chicago bias. Chicago was just named one of the top vacation ideas for baseball fans according to the travel website tripstodiscover.com. Chicago is on the list with Boston, Los Angeles, New York, and other cities, what makes Chicago a baseball destination? On the site they say...

"Attending a Cubs game at Wrigley Field in Chicago is a bucket-list experience for most fans. One of the oldest in the league, the first major league game at the park took place back in April 1914. The first Cubs game took place two years later and the team is the only charter National League team to still play in its original city."

What is funny to me is that Chicago makes their list PURELY based on the Cubs, the site never even mentions heading down to the south side to catch a White Sox game at Guaranteed Rate Field. You 1000% should do if you are going to Chicago for a baseball vacation, yes Wrigley is iconic, but the game day atmosphere, food, and drinks at a White Sox game are terrific.

I will say I was shocked to see St. Louis, not on this list, I can't stand the Cardinals but they do a heck of a job at Busch Stadium and the game-day atmosphere in St. Louis is incredible! To see the complete list of baseball vacation destinations click here.
