Never underestimate Missouri's ability to have a one-of-a-kind party. In just a couple of weeks, the state is putting on the party hats to celebrate the 20th anniversary and retirement of a two-headed snake.

This very interesting share by the Missouri Department of Conservation celebrates the life of one of the state's greatest reptile ambassadors. The get-together is in honor of a 20-year-old conjoined black rat snake. It will happen from 1p to 4p on Saturday, May 3 at the Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center in (wait for it) Cape Girardeau, Missouri in the north portion of the Cape Girardeau County Park.

“This will be the last time her uniquely conjoined reptile glory will be on display, before enjoying a behind-the-scenes and stress-free retirement full of pampering by MDC staff,”MDC Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center Manager Laci Prucinsky said. “It’s quite the accomplishment for a black rat snake with four eyes, two tongues, and two brains to survive for 20 years.”

Twenty years is a long time for such a unique snake to survive and the Missouri Department of Conservation wants to celebrate. If you feel like you're up for a road trip to the Cape Girardeau area, you can get full details on the snake birthday bash at the Missouri Department of Conservation website.
