Why Missouri Loves Fall Festivals

Maybe it's because I know Christmas is just around the corner, but fall is my favorite time of year. The changing of the weather, the beautiful fall colors, football, I mean, where is there not to love? One of my favorite things to explore is all the fall festivals to visit. Here are some of the best in Missouri to put on your calendar.

Hermann Oktoberfest

Can’t make it one weekend to Hermann? Don't worry, this Oktoberfest happens every weekend in October. So you have no excuses not to make a trip. Celebrate all things German heritage, take in the fall colors, and eat and drink your way through Hermann.

Maple Leaf Festival - Carthage, Missouri

Started in 1966 as a marching band competition, the Maple Leaf Festival has grown to so much more. Held the 3rd weekend in October, this festival offers visitors "arts & crafts, food vendors, live entertainment all day, a quilt show, activities for kids, a petting zoo, a carnival, walking tours and so much more."

Versailles Olde Tyme Apple Festival - Versailles, Missouri

The Versailles Olde Tyme Apple Festival takes place from October 5th through the 6th and has a parade, several vendors and booths to visit, an apple pie eating contest, live music, and more. The 2-day festival has been going strong for 45 years.

Harvest Festival at Silver Dollar City - Branson, Missouri

Silver Dollar City transforms into a fall wonderland. Running mid-September through October, the Harvest Fest at Silver Dollar City will offer visitors a unique experience. With illuminated pumpkins, live demonstrations from artisans, and a variety of fall-inspired food.

Black Walnut Festival - Stockton, Missouri

The Black Walnut Festival takes place in late September and celebrates the local specialty, the black walnut. The event includes a parade, live music, and numerous vendors, all set in the small town of Stockton.
