Missouri Spot Named Best Under-The-Radar-Restaurant in the State
When my family and I travel, we always try to find a local restaurant. Not just because we want to support local food and drinks, but because we know we can always visit a national chain anytime.
A Small-Town Restaurant With Big Appeal
So when Cheapism ranked the top under-the-radar restaurants, I assumed the winner would be in a larger city like St. Louis, Kansas City, Branson, or Springfield. But to my surprise, that wasn’t the case.
They say Pear Tree Kitchen & Bar in Macon is the best under-the-radar restaurant in the Show-Me State.
Why Pear Tree Stands Out in Missouri
From its weekly menus to its famous three-layer cake, Pear Tree is one of those unique spots you just have to experience for yourself. Known for its upscale New York City–inspired atmosphere, the kitchen and bar attract people from all over Missouri, Illinois, and even Iowa.
If you do find yourself at Pear Tree, apparently the must-try items are their handcrafted dishes, especially the onion rings, batter-fried lobster tails, and in-house aged Creekstone Farms steaks.

Looks like I have another restaurant to add to my ever-growing bucket list.
