Authorities in Adams, Pike and Scott counties in Illinois are investigating a series of rural home invasions.

According to Pike County Sheriff David Greenwood, deputies responded Thursday to a burglary in rural Chambersburg, then responded to home invasions early Friday morning in rural Chambersburg and rural Perry.

In the home invasions, the owners were robbed and the homes were burglarized. A vehicle was stolen in the rural Perry home invasion.

A suspect was taken into custody Friday in Jacksonville and is housed in the Pike County Jail in Pittsfield.

Authorities believe these incidents are related to similar incidents recently in Adams and Scott counties.

A joint investigation into the incidents by the Pike, Adams and Scott County Sheriff’s Departments, Jacksonville Police and the Illinois State Police continues.
