(ST LOUIS)--Lawmakers have opted to study the issue of Interstate 70, essentially killing hopes this year for the proposal to allow tolls in the roadway. The Senate voted to form a committee to study the states infrastructure needs
during the summer and fall. The study panel would have 14 members, eight Republicans and six Democrats, split evenly between the House and Senate. Missouri Department of Transportation officials have urged that more funding
is desperately needed, especially for I-70.
