The FFA organization recently completed its Missouri state convention in Columbia. There are a number of different awards handed out, and northeast Missouri FFA chapters were well represented among the team and individual award winners.

For example:

The Palmyra FFA Chapter placed third in the Farm Management Career Development Event. The winning team members are Alec Bland, Ryan Jones, Alex Stone and Mitch Sutter.  Bland placed tenth and Stone finished eleventh out of 178 individuals.

Jessie Fowler of the Van-Far FFA Chapter placed second in the Job Interview Career Development Event.

Josh Barry of Clarence, Mo., won the Missouri FFA Swine Production Entrepreneurship Proficiency Award. Barry is a junior at South Shelby High School and is the son of J.D. and Julia Barry. He is a member of the South Shelby FFA Chapter.

The Monroe City FFA Chapter placed fifth in the Missouri FFA Parliamentary Procedure Career Development Event. The team members are Chairman Roberta Burns, Mason Browning, Kelly Winking, Hunter Mefford, Alesha Wilson, and Joseph Beaver.

The Missouri FFA Association recognized Emily Hanes of the Clopton FFA Chapter as Area 5 Star in Placement. Her parents are Mike and Rho Ann Hanes.
